Low EMF Best Practices for Schools
Editors Note: The following article is from EMF Blues. Please check them out here.Schools 'Hotbeds' for Wireless Radiation
Millions of children and adults in schools are spending significant amounts of time in WiFi and around wireless technologies. Although the studies and research have been available for decades on the detrimental effects of wireless radiation on the health of the body, many schoolboards are finally beginning to take this research seriously and are looking for ways to make schools 'EMF safe' for both students and teachers.
Studies on Wireless RF Radiation
Studies have found that wireless radiofrequency (RFR) radiation "can damage reproductive systems, impact the immune system, alter brain functioning and increase cancer risk". Additional studies over the years have linked wireless radiation exposure to shortened attention spans and difficulty concentrating. It has been found that many of the tablets that children often use in schools constantly emit short bursts of radiation even when they are not hooked up to the internet.
Low EMF Best Practice
The Low EMF Best Practice solution is being introduced by researchers and scientists involved with EMF Watchdog Group the Environmental Health Trust as a way to make schools 'EMF safe' - or atleast "EMF safer'.
"The Low EMF Best Practice safe solution is a fully wired technology network in the school, along with corded phones (not cordless). Wireless technology introduces an environmental pollutant into the school setting and this is not safe for children. All school technology should be fully wired -meaning schools should remove the Wi-Fi/wireless systems and replace them with wires and cable connections."
The idea of Low EMF Best Practice is the solution for what is quickly becoming known as 'unsafe' tech, aka wireless tech. Under Low EMF Best Practices, only wired devices are allowed in schools, which eliminates all cell phone use in schools. This is a practice some European school systems have already implemented in an attempt to safe quard the health of their children.
Part of the Low EMF Best Practice solution also entails educating the students on how they can create 'safe-tech' environments in their homes by going back to wired connections whenever possible.
While it will surely take some time for Low EMF Best Practices to be ingratiated and then implemented into chools, it is a positive sign that the conversation on EMF Safety in schools has begun.
